Welcome to Torbay Bygones!
The aim of this website is to provide local people, visitors and past residents with pictures and
information about Torbay from the past which I hope you'll find intriguing and enjoyable.
Being an amateur photographer (see some of my pictures here) I've always been interested in old pictures of the bay, so I decided to put this site together to show some of the photographs and postcards that I have collected or come across over the years, mainly from the earlier part of the twentieth century.
Coming from Torquay, it's history has always fascinated me, hence the larger section on it. But I hope to increase the size of the Paignton & Brixham sections in the near future.
I have tried to date each picture and give some information on it.
If anyone has any more info about a photo they have seen, you can contact me here and I will be happy to add it to the site on the next update. Also, any other ideas about things you would like to see on the site, or just make a comment, I would love to hear from you.
In the future I have plans to add a history of torbay page and I'll go into more detail about some of the places and buildings which are no longer with us.
